CHILDREN – YOUTHS – FAMILIES
A visit to a museum can be far from boring, especially at Kanal-Centre Pompidou! Did you know that Kanal-Centre Pompidou is in fact an old garage? At Kanal-Centre Pompidou there are no dusty old paintings hanging on the walls and you don’t have to be super quiet.
We show supercool contemporary artworks that have been printed in 3D or that suddenly start moving. We also have installations and video projections. We offer really fun tours, theatre shows, creative itineraries, workshops and a lot more for children and youths, with or without their parents! Discover the programme below:

Welcome to the Family
Every first Sundays of the month, between 15:00 and 16:00, we invite families to discover Kanal – Centre Pompidou. For children, accompanied by an adult, we propose a creative itinerary. While the children are busy with some fun seek-and-draw missions, the accompanying parents learn more about the works on display from the guide.
Tickets: + €5/person
Freestyle Dance @ Kanal-Centre Pompidou
Every Wednesday, between 17:00 and 19:00, Freestyle Lab, a Brussels platform for urban dancers, offers youths the chance to dance. Want to learn hip hop or to improve your style? Get inspired by the space and the artworks, learn from one another and discover your own style to the rhythm of hip hop and groovy beats.
Every Wednesday: 17:00 until 19:00, €3
Feeling creative? Then at Kanal-Centre Pompidou you’re at the right address! Come and work in our mobile workshop, get inspired by the iconic building, help build the museum of the future with all sorts of building materials and give your creativity free rein! During the workshop we work not only with traditional 2D and 3D drawing and bricolage materials, but we also experiment with new digital technologies, such as makey makeys, conductive ink, laser cutters, open-source games and a lot more!
Happy Birthday @ Kanal-Centre Pompidou!
Is it your birthday? Congrats! Birthday boys and girls are welcome at the Home Movie Factory. Not only will the birthday boy/girl get to play the lead in his/her own film, but all his/her friends can play in it too. At the end of the day, the birthday boy/girl takes home his/her own film. Before or after this activity, we provide a snack (cake, sweets, etc.) and a drink in the public space of Kanal-Centre Pompidou. In collaboration with the food trucks, we propose a number of culinary formulas.
