The exhibition ‘The Act of Breathing' through the eyes of Samuel N'Sengi

 

In this subjective guided tour, artists or personalities from the visual arts’ world plays the role of mediator and shares with the public their artistic ‘crush’ and their own vision of the exhibition 'The Act of Breathing' presented in Horst as part of the Living Traces project led by KANAL-Centre Pompidou.

 

 

 

SAMUEL N'SENGI

 

Born in 1994, Samuel N'Sengi is a Belgian artist of Congolese origin, based in Brussels.
Through performance, photography and video, he explores questions of multiple identities and gender, the relationship to the body and to the other within dynamics and mechanisms of tension, power and violence.

 

N'Sengi's work has been exhibited in several cultural venues in Brussels and abroad: Centre culturel et sportif Tour à Plomb, 2021, Brussels (BE); Antwerp Art Weekend, De Studio, 2021, Antwerp (BE); Penthouse Art Residency, 2019, Brussels (BE); State Gallery of Art, 2019, Sopot (Poland); Maison des arts de Schaerbeek, 2019, Brussels (BE); Vanderborght, 2019 Brussels (BE); Bozar, 2018-2019, Brussels (BE). He also recently joined the public department of the KANAL-Centre Pompidou Museum, as a mediator and project collaborator.
