John Armelder is sad. Easter Bells hid a surprise somewhere in his exhibition at KANAL, but John can’t find it. He looked everywhere: among his friend Charlemagne’s collection of teddy bears, in the pine trees growing on the ceiling and even around the cold campfire…

Will you help John to find his surprise? Equipped with a treasure map full of mysterious clues, and accompanied by a guide who will help you to understand john’s artworks, you will lead the investigation. And who knows, maybe you will leave with a gourmet surprise …

In PROTESTENCIL the public compose and print their own poster using the high impact stencils created by Teresa Sdralevich. Bold and simple images, inspiring words and abstract forms come together in never ending combinations, transforming participants into instant designers. In IMPRIMERUE // DRUKKER STRAAT she applies the same principle, but this time uses the street’s surface as the base on which to print.

Come and celebrate St. Nicholas's day at Kanal-Centre Pompidou with a full afternoon program :

13:00 – 14:00 : creative workshop : design clothes for Saint Nicholas or recreate a piece of art of Kanal-Centre Pompidou in paper toy

14:00 – 16:00 : Shhhhh, it’s a surprise : the Saint is coming to pay us a visit
16:00 – 17:00 : Let’s finish on a high note with some hot chocolate and speculoos

In this workshop, our quaranteens challenge each other to a real slam battle!

But first, let’s discover the wonderful world of John M Armleder together during a guided tour and take inspiration from his work. After the tour, the teenagers will work separately with a slam artist.

John M Armleder often incorporates plants and flowers in his work, both real and artificial. He hangs Christmas trees upside-down from the ceiling of the museum, for example, or plants artificial flowers in car tyres. During this workshop we will be working with real plants and flowers and you will be making your own herbarium!
