SCAFFOLDS

23/11/2018
Scaffolds and 'Being with Pedagogy' are two events organized in synergy, providing the chance to link an academic event with a day of lectures and discussion open to the broader public.
The symposium aims at creating a place for sharing and discussion on research in architecture and urbanism, artistic practice and studio pedagogy.
It does so by reflecting upon epistemological and cognitive strategies and tools used in understanding and shaping our space, from the immediate human body and its extensions to the territory.

A Invenção da Maldade - Marcelo Evelin
10/05/2019 — 11/05/2019
Brazilian choreographer, researcher and performer Marcelo Evelin is a prominent name in the field of contemporary dance. His latest creation came into being in a former warehouse in his hometown, Teresina, which he uses as his artistic workplace. Raw and unpolished, the space reflects the city and the surrounding country, where everyday lives run up against powerful political tensions and a growing intolerance towards minorities and artists.

MONUMENTAL
15/03/2019 — 17/03/2019
For several years, visual artist Jocelyn Cottencin has been conducting a reflection on form, image, signs and space through recurrent themes such as the group and the community.
For his projects he uses installations, film, graphic design, performances and the book. Quite logically, Monumental is a project that moves borders.
Monumental seeks to activate a visual and collective memory originating in representations of our history, in particular the history of art, or media and contemporary events.

“Nothing is serious enough to take seriously” Marcel Duchamp.
A bottle of wine, a snow shovel, a sentence, a urinal… They don't seem that special. Who could have thought that they would be the start of an artistic revolution and completely change how we see art? And most importantly, that this change started in the middle of the First World War? Discover our new exhibition: Hahaha. The Humor of Art.

The first Black bishop to be appointed by the Catholic Church was supposed to settle in Utica, Tunisia but never reached his final destination. His story was the inspiration for Sammy Baloji’s new performance. Missa Utica retraces the priest’s journey and explores the history of the Kongo Kingdom in the 15th century and the evangelisation of Africa. We witness the initial contact and first diplomatic exchanges, alliances built and broken.
