Following the success of Tornar (2015) and INVITED (2018), dancer and choreographer Seppe Baeyens builds upon his exploration of shaping a temporary community in Birds. For this new creation, he steps outside the theatre walls and ventures into the public space with a group of performers and musicians. There the normal course of events is interrupted – sometimes invisibly and sometimes plainly.

What does it mean to feel at home? It’s a question photo and video artist Kamand Razavi was invited to explore as part of "Homelands, Places of Belonging", the community-based co-creative project led by newcomer artists, initiated by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. The Iranian artist, in partnership with Résidences Art and KANAL-Centre Pompidou, went to meet local groups in Brussels and Molenbeek in order to find an answer that could resonate and find meaning in each of us.

Over a duration of 4 weeks, this micro Christmas Market will offer the people of Brussels a new and alternative Christmas experience. Here, the classic chalets will be replaced by shipping containers serving Christmas street food and hot drinks. How to imagine alternative uses for our streets and public space? This summer, OpenStreets will bring free concerts, dance performances and workshops to the quartier Maritime in Molenbeek. Together with many cultural and local partners, KANAL has developed an outdoor programme for six summer streets with performances by Seppe Baeyens and Ultima Vez a.o. but also alternative photobooths, textile and future workshops.

Artist, performer, singer and musician Ivo Dimchev proposes a new approach to concerts by including the audience.
Ivo Dimchev describes his project in a few words: ‘I like the idea of a concert during which people constantly take selfies with me while I sing. Selfie is a choreography. Selfie is a sculpture. Selfie is a tragedy. Selfie is love.

It was in Brussels, in October 2013, that Charlemagne Palestine and Eric Thielemans first met, during a residency organized by Ateliers Claus which also involved the Finnish electronic musician Mika Vainio (1963-2017), from the legendary duo Pan Sonic. The music composed over these four days, subsequently released on Charlemagne Palestine’s Godbear label is at the root of this performance, Palestine and Thielemans today being accompanied by guitarist Oren Ambarchi.

Digital Spring is coming to Brussels, from 22 to 24 March 2019.
The event will be completely free and open to all. The first edition of Digital Spring will take place from 22 to 24 March 2019.
On 22 March, a spectacular opening night will take place at Hotel de la Poste at Tour & Taxis. No less than 40 musicians from the Brussels Philharmonic ill be interpreting compositions generated by artificial intelligence and inspired by great classical composers (free, but booking required – limited spaces)
