Bookshop

Indoor construction view of the bookshop with glass walls, and building materials scattered on the floor.

The bookshop carries some 7 000 national and international titles on visual arts, live arts, architecture and landscape. Its offer reflects Kanal's interdisciplinary programme and ranges from monographs and artists' books to essays and magazines. There’s a special selection for children and young people too. Throughout the year, the bookshop hosts a varied programme of book launches and signings, in the company of authors, artists and architects.

The interior design by CENTRAL architects, Sophie Dars and Pierre Leguillon draws inspiration from the first literary salons and the intimacy of the living rooms in which they were originally held. A communal space and bookshop that feel as familiar and welcoming as a cosy living room, while remaining open to an entire city.
