Undocumented people, including artists, are regularly asked to share their experiences in artistic projects such as theatre plays, documentaries or co-creations. At first glance, this seems positive and likely to garner more public attention for their struggles. However, those who participate in these projects are often left disappointed by broken promises, specious solidarity, the exploitation of their stories, or a lack of transparency.

During this two-day event, the Exil.s & Création.s platform encourages institutions, associations and individuals from the social, cultural and artistic sectors to come together and reflect on this theme. What stories are being told by and for undocumented people, and in whose interest? What perspectives reinforce their struggle? What are the constraints of testimonies and what forms of fiction are possible? How can people without papers get access to labour rights and copyrights? Starting from a series of pertinent questions, participants will reflect and brainstorm on these matters through an anti-racist, anti-sexist and anti-classist lens and take joint action.

Exil.s & Création.s is an initiative of undocumented people, working with documented people, collectives and institutions. This two-day event is open to everyone and aims to bring together as many people as possible – with and without papers – who are involved in art, culture or education.

Organised by Exil.s & Création.s (the Voix des Sans Papiers - VSP), the Comité des femmes sans-papiers, ESA St-Luc and ERG, L'atelier du Toner, FRMK, Désorceler La Finance / Désorceler Frontex, CEC Chant des Rues, with the support of Sémaphore asbl and Kanal-Centre Pompidou.

Il n'y a pas d'événements prévu pour ce mois.
