Linked to the exhibition A truly immense journey, this workshop invites participants to explore the connections between languages, territories and forms of writing. It is open to anyone who speaks French and a minority language or a language with a colonial history. Multilingualism is the starting point for this collective exploration.

Marwane Lakhal is an author and playwright. He develops a style of writing that bridges French and Darija, a Moroccan dialect, in which the languages intermingle without the need for translation. His writing examines how colonial heritage shapes our personal histories and relationships with others.

This workshop forms part of the joint programme with Midis Poésie, which has been bringing poetry and literature in all its forms to Brussels for 78 years. Together with a group of regular artists, Midis Poésie organises a varied programme of workshops, performances and readings, tying in with the various themes of the exhibition A truly immense journey.
