Tour (90 min)

Kanal Lab invites students to explore A truly immense journey and discover the diversity of materials, techniques and media used in modern and contemporary art, and how artists engage with them in the exhibition. During the tour, participants collect materials – texts, sketches, sounds or snippets of conversation – to support observation and reflection, while discovering professions linked to the artworks, such as curation, conservation and production.

Workshop (90 min)

In this workshop, designed by the Maya Strobbe, a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of drawing, graphic design and conceptual publishing, participants continue their exploration using the materials they gathered during the visit. These traces become the starting point for a collective creative process, in which the different elements are assembled, reworked and reinterpreted. Guided through each stage, participants see their individual contributions evolve into a shared artwork.

This tour and workshop are based on the exhibition A truly immense journey, which explores the theme of movement. It brings together works from the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Kanal and other public and private collections in Belgium.
