Who or what are the new gods of our time? In PROTOCOL, Kris Verdonck and Ictus explore the invisible forces that shape our lives: from artificial intelligence and climate change to political power and the cult of the individual. Inspired in part by the Hauka rituals from Jean Rouch’s film Les Maîtres Fous (1955), four dancers and three musicians stage a contemporary ritual in public space, questioning the systems and powers that govern us.
