With a nod and a wink to the Brussels artist Marcel Broodthaers, Clémentine Deliss invites you to the Département des Pièges. Inside, you’ll find an array of surprising objects and paintings from ten Brussels museums, together with works by contemporary artists, ready to throw you off the scent. From booby traps and trompe-l’oeils to fishing nets and decoys: every item hides a trap.

Have you found your ideal museum yet – one that fulfils all your wishes and answers all your questions? Why not design it yourself during this workshop, organised in collaboration with the Brussels Museum of Industry and Labour, La Fonderie, one of the lenders to Département des Pièges. In the heart of the exhibition, and inspired by the works on display, you'll explore together what makes a museum a museum: the staff, the spaces, the collections, the various professions involved, and how visitors use it. Through discussions, observations and drawing exercises, you are encouraged to devise your own dream museum. The proposals will be compiled into a collective publication.
