Nick Coutsier and Zoe Hollinshead create a new work especially for the opening of Kanal, starting from a simple element of the museum display. In Hall 1, the two dancers explore the potential of a black plinth. Who is expected to be seen on top of this structure? What happens when a Black body occupies the plinth not only as a place to be looked at, but as a place to look from? Not only as a place to command power and attention, but as a site to rest and recharge.
