Papilloneer Orchestra

What if the turntable were no longer just a playback device, but a fully-fledged musical instrument? Enter the Papilloneer Orchestra, which was born from that question. Together with DJs and sound artists Anina, Gomar/Donia, Jano and Oeryo, Soumaya Phéline Abouda develops an experimental performance in which improvisation, sound and movement fuse together. Papilloneer refers to the fluttering, butterfly-like energy of the performers, sounds and gestures, and to the search for new possibilities within DJ and turntablism culture.
