Kanal-Centre Pompidou and Trouble share a commitment to artistic experimentation and transdisciplinary practices and have collaborated on several occasions in recent years. In 2027, this collaboration gets a new impulse: throughout the museum, an extensive programme of performances, installations and new works will unfold, while the festival will alternate between Kanal and Studio Thor in Saint-Josse-ten-Node.

This edition is shaped by wars, state violence and the resurgence of toxic masculinity. At the same time, it is informed by the experiences and perspectives of artists from West and Central Asia. Through these diverse voices, Trouble reaffirms performance as a space for resistance, reflection and imagination.

Artists: Wathiq Al-Ameri*, Tania El Khoury, Habitant·es des Images*, Parsa Kamehkhosh*, Kubra Khademi, Xiao Lu*, Christophe Meierhans, Mélanie Peduzzi*, Robin Pourbaix, radical_hope, Gwendoline Robin* and Raeda Saadeh*.
