Woman is a life-sized representation of an idealised female silhouette. The work brings together different interests of Danai Anesiadou, such as the body and identity, performance and film, our emotional relationship to objects, sciences that are considered occult and shapeshifting.

Woman is part of a series of orgonite sculptures Danai Anesiadou made in 2023 for her solo exhibition D POSSESSIONS in WIELS. Typically, an orgonite is a pyramid-shaped instrument that is made of resins, metals and crystals. According to the teachings of psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich, it can transform energies and neutralise electromagnetic frequencies. The orgonite sculptures of Anesiadou contain personal belongings, recycled metal shavings, epoxy and crystals.
