"This wooden structure, constructed from timber profiles, is designed as an autonomous and nomadic exhibition frame that can be reused and repurposed in various ways. For the exhibition Building Pedagogy, the structural and spatial characteristics of the installation were reworked into a new monumental presentation structure that shapes and frames both the content and the exhibition itself." Lisa De Visscher and Philippe Vander Maren in the exhibition leaflet for Building Pedagogy, ULiège, 2023.

Half-Timbered is a modular structure for displaying works of art. It can be adapted time and again to different contexts, and functions both as an architectural object and as exhibition infrastructure. The open framework consists of vertical and diagonal wooden beams connected by hinges, allowing for various configurations. In previous presentations, paintings, drawings and photographs by other artists were displayed on both sides.

By offering a flexible alternative to the often-restrictive exhibition space, Half-Timbered creates unexpected relationships between artworks, visitors and space. As in Venlet's other work, this gives rise to "an environment within an environment" that invites reflection on both the works on display and the institutional context.

The title of the work refers to half-timbered construction, a medieval building method featuring exposed wooden structures, which was used between the 13th and 17th centuries in European regions where stone was scarce. The yellow wooden posts are timber framing profiles, which ensure stability and precision, thereby reducing the architecture to its basic principles.
