Emmanuelle Lainé

Emmanuelle Lainé studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and lives and works in Brussels and Marseille. She is known for her immersive installations with objects and films and for her "mises en abyme" – visual stories within a story – using large high-resolution digital images. For each exhibition, Lainé starts from the location's architecture and furnishings: using the mnemonic device of the "méthode des lieux" (method of loci), she then creates a meaningful connection between the space, the work and the visitors.
