Éric Croes studied sculpture at La Cambre and lives and works in Brussels. After his studies, he developed a wholly unique world, full of mythological, queer, medieval and folkloric references. After taking classes at the Académie Constantin Meunier, he turned his focus to ceramics, transposing his themes to this new medium. Several layers of meaning can be read into his imaginative and hybrid figures. On a technical level, they allude to diverse types of craftsmanship and a wide range of styles, from Etruscan to Japanese.
