Etablissement d'en face is a Brussels centre for contemporary art offering a diverse programme that supports emerging and established artists alike. Founded in 1991 by Delphine Bedel, Alec De Busschère, Christoph Draeger and Patrick Everaert, it operates with a strong focus on collaboration and mutual support between artists, spanning generations and language barriers. It is run by a collective of artists and curators, which today consists of Emeline Depas, Ryan Cullen, Olivier Foulon, Jean-Paul Jacquet, Nina Janssen, Henrik Olai Kaarstein, Stefanie Snoeck, Robert Snowden and Harald Thys. The space has had several locations, including the Rue d'Artois, Rue Dansaert, Rue Ravenstein and Place Jean Jacobs, where it is based today. Etablissement d'en face has become an important platform for critical discourse, organising a wide variety of events, including exhibitions, book launches, film screenings and symposiums.
