He is a painter, sculptor, performer, archivist, curator, collector, publisher, bookseller and gallery owner. Since the late 1960s, he has been working on an eclectic oeuvre that includes performances, drawings, sculptures and paintings. His work is characterised by a deep connection between life and art, and by the appropriation of objects and quotations.
