Shervin/e Sheikh Rezaei

Shervin/e Sheikh Rezaei is a Brussels-based multimedia artist with a background in architecture. She studied at the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar and at the Faculty of Architecture of KU Leuven in Ghent. In addition, she was a guest lecturer at LUCA School of Arts and completed her architectural internship at Jan De Vylder Inge Vinck architecten. The essence of spatial and emotional experience runs as a common thread through her artistic practice, which spans drawing, video, sculpture, scenography and installation. Into this work she folds uncontrollable elements such as movement, organic materials, illness and processes of memory, continually seeking an interplay between control and vulnerability, analysis and intuition. Art becomes, in this sense, a space where the rational and the emotional coexist in productive tension.
