Sophie Nys lives in Brussels and studied at Sint-Lucas in Ghent. She also obtained a postgraduate degree from the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. Using sculpture, photography, video, text and objects, she explores political, historical and social themes. She often starts from everyday items, local contexts or forgotten stories, transforming and reinterpreting them.
