Willem Oorebeek lives and works in Brussels. For more than 10 years he supervised the residency programme at WIELS and he is the co-founder of the exhibition space A.VE.NU.DE.JET.TE - INSTITUT DE CARTON. He taught at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, among others. Oorebeek has a keen interest in printing and its role in our image-saturated society. By (over)printing and reproducing visual materials from the mass media, he raises questions about representation and perception.
