Oussama Tabti studied at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d'Alger, the École Supérieure d'art in Aix-en-Provence and the HISK in Ghent, before settling in Brussels. His work questions closed geopolitics, characterised by rigid borders and inward-looking cultures, and critiques the difficulty of navigating a world that is at once globalised and shaped by mistrust and fear of "the stranger" and of otherness. Using found objects, photographs, sound and other media, he reconstructs the stories and journeys of people who are fleeing and migrating.
