On its final Sunday, we wrap up MolenFest with a series of festive interventions in the public space, connecting the canal zone to the heart of Brussels, the Grand Place.

Zinneke on and around the canal

On 1 June, the legendary Zinneke Parade toured the streets of Brussels-Centre once again. Numerous social and cultural organizations, youth and local associations showed off their colorful floats or zinnodes, lovingly built around the theme of "Plaizir”. It was a fitting conclusion to many months of hard work and anticipation.

Five zinnodes from the last Zinneke parade will return especially for MolenFest. Some of them will be transformed into water Zinnodes and launched on the canal for the festival's closing parade! The poetic creations of Mechaniek de l'envol, the laughs of Barba Haha, the ball-throwing of Bubbelbeek, the giant water wheel of Pixelbeek or the messages of La résistance des invisibles, you can discover them all along and on the canal.

Bastard.e.s. van Bruxelles

Like Zinneke, the Bastard.e.s of Bruxelles celebrate the city’s unique mix of peoples and cultures. They claim the concept of bastardhood as a vital part of the Brussels identity. During their group performance, they “adopt” a street pillar and decorate it to represent their neighborhood or district on the final day of MolenFest.

BXL MAR'BEL

Moroccan percussion, singing and dancing form the basis of a mobile street party on Car Free Sunday, 22 September. A large procession will set off from MolenFest at the canal to the center of Brussels, with musical stops at the AB, the Grand Place as part of Folklorissimo and beursschouwburg.
