On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, Kanal will finally open its doors. During that weekend, you can visit the ten opening exhibitions for free if you have booked a time slot. From yesterday morning, you could go to the Kanal website to claim these free exhibition tickets. On Wednesday morning, barely 24 hours after sales began, all 30,000 tickets had been snapped up.

But don't panic: you can still visit the rest of the building and take part in the other activities. All weekend long, you can come and go from Kanal freely, day and night, without a reservation. For 36 hours, Kanal will host a non-stop programme of live performances, opening rituals, concerts, DJ sets, films, installations, and workshops for children and families. The restaurants, rooftop bar and bakery are also already working overtime. The full programme for the opening weekend will be announced at the beginning of October.

Those who like to plan well ahead can also look further into the future now. Tickets for the live performances and films of the first season are already available online, and regular exhibition tickets can also be found on the website from this week onwards.

“Wow!! For the past 10 years, I’ve always been convinced that the people of Brussels would turn out to discover Kanal. In just 24 hours, 30 000 tickets were booked to visit our 10 inaugural exhibitions during the opening weekend on 28 and 29 November. That’s simply incredible. A huge thank you already for your trust – it really means a lot! And of course, Kanal will also be open to everyone who hasn’t booked a visit to the exhibitions, for 36 hours straight, non-stop. A major moment for Brussels!” — Yves Goldstein, Director
