Inaugurating Film as told by, filmmaker Johan Grimonprez presents Every Day Words Disappear, a lecture-cine-performance exploring how new stories about the origins of the world might help imagine different ways of belonging together in a bankrupt world marked by genocide and species extinction.

Following his Oscar-nominated Soundtrack to a Coup d’État (2024), which exposes colonial strategies of divide and rule, Grimonprez turns to interspecies coexistence. Rather than imagining a future paralysed by dystopian nihilism, he seeks joyful ways to tell untold stories of togetherness among shipwrecked travellers inhabiting this fragile spaceship called Earth.

This event is part of Film as told by, a monthly series exploring the past, present and future of film.
