Outsiders: 77_82 & Nicky Rat

Kiosk Radio x Kanal

Audio

Kanal is not only a building a museum, but also a sound. Online community radio Kiosk proved the perfect partner to help broadcast it into Brussels and beyond. For the Outsiders series, once a month on Sunday mornings, Kanal invites over an artist for a one-hour set: a new composition, a mix, an interview.

Belgian sound, since ’77. Recorded in basements, live or in the studio, released in different formats or played on the radio. Like a country and its capital, hostile and fragmented, where violence, claustrophobia and tenderness are part of the culture. More than a scene, this selection shows the instability of an era, turning it into a force that laid the ground for an independent culture, made in urgency and still going today. A real and imaginary city, built from records, memories, demands and boredom.
