Kanal is not only a building a museum, but also a sound. Online community radio Kiosk proved the perfect partner to help broadcast it into Brussels and beyond. For the Outsiders series, once a month on Sunday mornings, Kanal invites over an artist for a one-hour set: a new composition, a mix, an interview.

In 2022, Zoë Beery and Geoffrey Mak started a reading project Writing on Raving as a space for ravers, a platform to share the brilliant thoughts and ideas that are often dreamt up on the dancefloor. McKenzie Wark joined as a co-curator shortly after.

The group wanted to bring writing closer to the party and imagined readings with good lighting, a proper sound system, and even a fog machine. In 2025 O/R Books published the Writing on Raving anthology, a collection of literary pieces from the first three years of the series.


The set is inspired by the book: some tracks are mentioned in its pages, others are produced by contributors, and the rest are salvaged from their personal memories as ravers – music encountered along a journey that brought Beery, Mak and Wark together as dancers and collaborators.
