"Breathe!"
"Who am I, where do I come from? Where am I going?"
"What's your name?"
"What is your deepest wish, the wish you want to address to the future, for yourself, for your community, your family, your friends ...?"

So many messages addressed to people passing by on the Place de l'Yser, to neighbors, to residents of the Salvation Army's Foyer Selah.

All these responses served as the basis for a participatory work of art, Ys'Air, which takes possession of the asphalt where streetcars and cars pass by, to demand the right to breathe. Stories of life in the image of Brussels, from Belgium and all over the world, from Togo, Guinea Conakry, France, Syria, Cameroon, Djibouti, Italy, Morocco, Romania, Niger, Senegal, Congo, ...

A work that uses Morse code, bars and dots, to reveal a word, a story, a passage, a desire for elsewhere, a desire for a better tomorrow linked to a first name. A coded language that requires effort to understand, and special attention. Bars and dots are like traces that open up new worlds for those who want to see them.

A collaboration between Patrimoine à roulettes and KANAL-Centre Pompidou.
With the participation of Foyer Selah de l'Armée du salut.
Project supported by Bloomberg Philantropies, Bruxelles Mobilité and the City of Brussels.

Il n'y a pas d'événements prévu pour ce mois.
