"More and more I want to be living in a Big Here and a Long Now" - Brian Eno.

Following a series of experimental music concerts in connection with the architecture of the building, Kanal hosts this June 8 in its museum spaces, a great character from the contemporary classical music scene, Jean-Paul Dessy. The Belgian musician of great talent and sensitivity will flood the space with the sharp sound of his cello.

Both a composer (renowned in particular for his requiems conceived in close collaboration with philosopher Jean-Yves Leloup) and the conductor of the Musiques Nouvelles ensemble, Jean-Paul Dessy has conducted more than 120 world premieres and recorded more than 50 albums of contemporary classical music. His particular focus is on the sacred, the liturgy, ‘instrumental practice as a means of meditation’.
