MARS

KANAL-Centre Pompidou welcomes artist Myriam Van Imschoot and the YouYou group with a new vocal creation, MARS, around the art of the youyou or Zaghareet in Arabic, a loud ululation used as an expression of joy and festivity.

MARS brings together 18 performers, separated but visible behind the showroom's large windows, for a concert that will be broadcast live on the street corner and pavement. The division between inside and outside disappears with the voices of the performers. At times barely audible, then very loud, they aim for an entente with the hustle and bustle of the city. A place to exist and be heard. MARS is a special festive edition that marks the inauguration of a new, bigger YouYou group.
