Trouble Festival

This spring, the Trouble performance festival celebrates its twentieth birthday. To mark the special occasion, the 2025 edition will spread to locations across the city, including K1. Since the festival’s creation in 2005, much has changed in the world of performance art – once considered a niche, it has gained a strong foothold in Brussels.

The new edition also aims to broaden its horizon and scope, breaking free from well-worn Western aesthetics and embracing the perspectives of artists in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Invocations, evocations, magical or even shamanic gestures, political actions in public spaces and dialogues with the invisible. Performance as clairvoyance?
