Writing the script for Kanal’s film club

Are you an artist working in moving image or a filmmaker interested in visual arts? A film student or young person curious about artist films and programming? Or a local resident who wants to be part of an art-focused film community? Join us in imagining what a film club might look like at Kanal!

After two rounds of internal consultation with community-based film collectives and film initiatives by artists, Kanal is now opening the floor for further discussion to anyone interested in artist film and moving image. On Tuesday 22 May 2025, Kanal organises two open workshop sessions to discuss the proposals currently on the table, and to listen to further input and ideas for a possible film club.

Tickets are limited to 40 people per workshop. Please note that a part of the workshop will be conducted in English. However, French-, Dutch- and English-speaking mediators will be on hand for the break-out groups. Light refreshments will also be provided.
