Vital for Culte is an active family- centered approach that enables inspiration in a two-way dialogue. Culte is more than a booking agency, also managing artists and serving vision towards short and long term growth and believes in an active and visible role in order to push the thriving Brussels scene all around the world. For Festival Kanal, Culte was asked to curate a concert night inside the car factory. They will present three exclusive live sets: two collaborations and one brand new performance.

SKY H1 x Four Axes and a Frame

The Belgian producer SKY H1 debuted on Berlin's Creamcake label in 2015 and soon after signed to PAN's sublabel, Codes, releasing the widely acclaimed 'Motion' EP. The EP's sparse yet club-cursed sound was Mixmag's 'Album of the Month', and was lauded by both Dazed & Confused and Resident Advisor. In October 2018, Children Of The Light invite the artists Gosse de Kort and Nieke Koek (Sandberg Instituut) to collaborate with SKY H1 on a unique light and music show presented during De School’s ADE weekender. The artists’ piece ‘Four Axes and a Frame’ was used during SKY H1’s performance and as a contemplation artefact for the rest of the weekend. The result was an intimate show that set, for one hour, a different time zone in the club’s 62h of dance music. Touched by the powerful collaboration Culte wanted to present the show in Brussels as well. Kanal - Centre Pompidou seemed like the perfect place to do it. Indeed, the aim isn’t to repeat what happened in October but to put into dialogue the performance, art piece and the old factory creating something as unique as De School’s proposal.

Aniversary (Milan W. & Hiele)

Roman and Milan shared classrooms together at the school of arts and the Antwerp Conservatorium. Next to their jazz curriculum at the Conservatorium (contrabas & guitar) they were teached electronic compositions by Joris De Laet (SEM). Following a lifelong friendship and a shared fascination for electronic music they will present 'Anniversary': a duo performance that doesn't take place very often.

Tucuxi (Mika Oki & Basses Terres)

The Tucuxi stretches in the middle of long waves on endless paths between the dark feathers of sleep and the arc of fire that emerges on the horizon. It leaves the abyssal plains, to come breathe on the surface of still waters. The duo composed of Mika Oki and Basses Terres, affiliated to the art collective Liquidation Totale oscillates between electro-acoustic music and ethereal melodies, exploring sounds related to oceanic feelings.

SAGAT (dj set)

SAGAT doesn’t score a soundtrack to his memories of Brussels he makes the music as he lives in the city, traversing it on a daily basis. Not many people can pin down the elusive mix between all the seemingly contradictory elements that make up the city, but SAGAT has caught this essence for long enough to present it to you, before it crumbles and reconfigures into his next productions. For Culte night at Kanal - Centre Pompidou, SAGAT will take care of the soundtrack that will set the tone and accompany us throughout the evening.
