Aside from painting, Meert has always been drawing. In this body of work, he allows himself greater freedom and spontaneity. His drawings are not preparatory sketches for his canvases; they stand on their own.

In addition to the farting figure with his buttocks in the air, there are five other figures, including someone yelling in the lower section, cut off by the edge of the drawing. This is a digital photomontage of a crash test dummy and mummy, printed in black and white and recoloured with thin layers of oil paint, then cut out and glued to paper. To his left is a self-portrait of the artist holding his head in his hands.

For Meert, this drawing is the strongest in the series. He chose it for the cover of his first solo album, Reste Envie (Futura Resistenza, Brussels/Rotterdam, May 2023).
