Laurent Dupont
Laurent Dupont lives and works in Brussels. He studied painting at the Académie des beaux-arts in Liège and installation and performance art at Erg in Brussels. He was in residence at WIELS (2010) and teaches at Sint Lucas Antwerp. His work is characterised, among other things, by his conceptual approach to painting and his contextual transformation of objects, using different media. For many years, he has also been collecting and replicating animal paintings made by anonymous artists. Dupont took part in exhibitions at the Gauli Zitter Gallery, Etablissement d'en face and WIELS in Brussels. Abroad, his work has been shown in Simian in Copenhagen, Plymouth Rock in Zurich, CFA in Milan, the Meyer*Kainer Gallery and Galerie nächst St. Stephan in Vienna and at CAC in Vilnius. It is part of the collections of the Cera Foundation, Museum M in Leuven and MAK in Vienna, among others.
