LIVING PREAMBLE — A Ceremony with the Szenne
Sinds 2021 trekt Natural Contract Lab samen met de SZenne en haar vele verwanten door het landschap: mensen, libellen, wilgen, mussen, regen, Japanse duizendknoop, brandnetels — het zichtbare en het onzichtbare. Van haar bron onder een wilg in Naast tot aan het Zennegat in Mechelen, volgt deze tocht de SZenne door het landschap, luisterend naar haar water, haar ritmes en haar vele relaties.

- Het River Oracle-ritueel vindt plaats in het Maximiliaanpark, tegenover Kanal.
Tijdens het openingsweekend van KANAL krijgt de tocht de vorm van een collectieve ceremonie. In Brussel vertrekt Walking with the SZenne aan het Riolenmuseum en nodigt de tocht uit om het stedelijke landschap te herontdekken vanuit het perspectief van de onzichtbare rivier. In de namiddag brengen de Living Law Song en de eerste River Oracle de stem van en de herinnering aan de SZenne aan de oppervlakte via collectieve zang en ritueel. Samen maken deze activiteiten deel uit van de Living Preamble, een voorstel aan het parlement tot erkenning van de SZenne in het Belgische recht.
