Born in 1975 in Hal, Belgium.
Koenraad Dedobbeleer lives and works in Brussels. He has been producing sculptures, installations, photographs, and publications since the end of the 1990s. His sculptures are reminiscent of everyday objects, but their relocation to the exhibition space frees them from their function as useful objects. The artist believes that the meaning of an object depends heavily on the context in which it is present-ed. He designs and arranges his works in response to the architecture in which they are presented. “What a gigantic problem the titles of works are: they load the object with meaning”. For Koenraad Dedobbeleer, titles never have a direct relationship with the objects that they describe.
