Sammy Baloji

Sammy Baloji divides his time between Brussels and Lubumbashi. After studying information and communication sciences at the University of Lubumbashi, he specialised in video art and photography at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg. In 2008, he co-founded the Picha studio and the Lubumbashi Biennale. Baloji's work and research focus on the history and heritage of his native country, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the impact and legacy of Belgian colonisation.
