Brussels, 3 June 2020 - On 13 and 14 June, KANAL-Centre Pompidou invites the public to discover the installation imagined by designer Charles Kaisin as part of the solidarity action ‘Origami for Life’. Charles Kaisin and KANAL-Centre Pompidou wish to thank the public for the surge of solidarity which made it possible to finance Covid-19 units and the search for treatments at the Erasmus Hospital.

When Charles Kaisin, in collaboration with KANAL-Centre Pompidou, invited the public on 30 March to make an origami to support the efforts of the hospital, no one could imagine the success of the action. For each origami received, the partners in the operation (the Engie Foundation and many private sponsors) pledged to pay 5 euro to the Erasmus Foundation.

The harvested origami were gradually displayed at KANAL-Centre Pompidou. Visitors are invited to discover this impressive installation on 13 and 14 June. The visit will also allow visitors to see the KANAL workshops for the last time before the start of the refurbishment. Chamber music ensembles (Quatuor Amôn, Quatuor Arsys, Trio Spilliaert, Quatuor MP4) presented by Chamber Music for Europe (CME) will accompany visitors.

This concludes the action which made it possible to display the 20,325 origami received and to raise 101,625 euro.
