Tour (45 min)

Physical expression to music
A large, elongated cushion by textile artist Ana Maria Gomez, reminiscent of a playful centipede. The children hold onto it and set off together on an adventure. Music sets the rhythm of their journey. Together, they move and practise breathing exercises. Moments of observation alternate with active exploration, always centred on the artworks. Play and physical expression are at the heart of discovering the exhibition.

Creative workshop (45 min)

Painting in motion
The journey continues along a vast trail of colours that unfolds across the floor. Lines flow. Curves intersect. Colours spread to the rhythm of the music. Shapes and materials transform and there is paint everywhere! Using unexpected tools, the children experiment – on the floor, on one foot, on all fours – always in motion. The workshop ends in Kanal’s playground, an open space for free play and continued exploration of the body and movement.
Kanal provides aprons for this activity, but it is recommended that children wear clothes that can get dirty.

This tour and workshop are based on the exhibition A truly immense journey, which explores the theme of movement. It brings together works from the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Kanal and other public and private collections in Belgium.
