Tour (45 min)

A feast for the eyes
L’Épicerie sociale des Capucines, located in the Marolles neighbourhood, has devised an imaginary menu. What if a colour were sweet, salty or spicy? The children encounter the artworks through flavours and colours. Every texture becomes a taste. Every shape becomes a sensation. This creative journey is also an opportunity to explore the seasons and our daily eating habits. The experience then continues in the kitchen, where imagined sensations are transformed into real culinary treats.

Workshop (45 min)

Culinary creation
The children put on their chef’s hats and engage in a sensory exploration: tasting with their eyes closed, touching, smelling, sorting and linking foods to the artworks they have encountered in the exhibition. A sheet of rice paper becomes a canvas; each child creates their own recipe of colours using cut-outs, plant prints and natural paints – all safe to handle and edible. The individual creations are brought together at the end to form a patchwork, ready to be tasted. A chance to set the table, then handle and name the objects around it.
Please inform us of any food or skin allergies before your visit. The workshop is designed to minimise the risk of allergies.

This tour and workshop are based on the exhibition A truly immense journey, which explores the theme of movement. It brings together works from the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Kanal and other public and private collections in Belgium.
