Tour (90 mins)

Step behind the scenes! Based on the exhibition Right to the City–Right to the Future, this tour invites you to see architecture as a form of identity, like clothes or masks. From Kanal and its surroundings, pupils observe doors as thresholds to be read: What do they reveal about the world they conceal? Are they welcoming or rather forbidding? As witnesses to the past or clues to the future, they convey the tensions and aspirations of a neighbourhood undergoing a transformation.
Workshop (90 mins)

Observe, draw, imagine: doors become the starting point for understanding the city in a different way. After studying the doors you came across during the visit, explore what they evoke, the worlds they suggest and the emotions they stir up. Using collage and drawing, participants create their own door, opening onto an imaginary universe that they gradually construct.
