The last weekend of It Never Ends is also the last chance to visit the five floors of the former showroom of the Citroën garage. Especially for this occasion, Nick Steur will be creating a new and profoundly fragile installation made from rubble. During the first renovation phase at KANAL, he collected fragments of masonry that had formed part of the building's structure. He uses them to build a new installation of meticulously balanced sculptures of discarded concrete.

Beginnings Marathon
25/04/2021 — 26/04/2021
We have all had an extraordinary and difficult year. Our world came to a partial standstill. We are longing for a new beginning. But how do we begin again? Do we start where we ended in March 2020? Or will it be the beginning of something totally different? Do we start again cautiously or will it be the new roaring twenties? And should we be looking for that one new beginning? The importance and the danger of a new beginning amidst the 'post-crisis' vulnerability cannot be overestimated.
Rendez-vousTalk
John M Armleder in conversation with Bernard Blistène and Mai-Thu Perret
Tea Time #1
24/09/2020 — 25/09/2020
Drinking tea, artists talking to each other, friends talking amongst each other, including the public in the exchanges, creating a contact between art and everyday life. John M Armleder has been conceiving works of art, exhibitions and events as encounters ever since the 1960s. The work of art becomes both the object of an aesthetic experience and the occasion for a meeting and an exchange. Every day therefore, as part of the exhibition It Never Ends, Armleder talks, at tea time and in public, with his guests: artists, curators, friends and acquaintances, etc.
Talk
John M Armleder in conversation with Rectangle (Aline Melaet, Pierre-Pol Lecouturier and Xavier Pauwels)
Tea Time #2
25/09/2020 — 26/09/2020
Rectangle, an independent art space in Brussels, has been committed since 2012, to researching different ways of showing and experiencing art. One particular example by the collective was the production of a series of exhibitions that gained notoriety via the rental of a billboard in the Saint-Gilles district and by turning this advertising space into the site for the exhibition. In parallel with It Never Ends, Rectangle invited John M Armleder to create an exhibition in a public space. The artist called it "Isocèle".

SCAR THE CAR
24/09/2020 — 27/09/2020
How do people mourn? How do we remember someone? How do we deal with the loss of something precious? Every culture, every conviction, every person deals with it in different ways, with specific rituals.
The project Scar The Car by Brussels based artist Eric Van Uytven, son and grandson of Brussels car mechanics, was planned to be a weekend-long happening at the gallery Waldburger-Wouters, coinciding with the opening of It Never Ends in KANAL at the end of April. The Covid-19 pandemic decided otherwise.
