Miniature works
20/02/2021 — 21/02/2021
Have you ever climbed to the top of scaffolding? Have you ever seen trees ... upside down? Have you ever seen a wood fire in… neon lights? Have you ever seen objects that become what you want them to be? And that then become your own work of art? If, as is the case with John M Armleder, art is a game to you, let's go discover his works together as we wander through the vast expanses of the KANAL museum: supine, vertical, upside down, dancing, meditating, in the dark, in the light, etc.

SCAR THE CAR
24/09/2020 — 27/09/2020
How do people mourn? How do we remember someone? How do we deal with the loss of something precious? Every culture, every conviction, every person deals with it in different ways, with specific rituals.
The project Scar The Car by Brussels based artist Eric Van Uytven, son and grandson of Brussels car mechanics, was planned to be a weekend-long happening at the gallery Waldburger-Wouters, coinciding with the opening of It Never Ends in KANAL at the end of April. The Covid-19 pandemic decided otherwise.

HIGH AND LOW, WRITING STORIES IN RELIEF
13/03/2021 — 14/03/2021
Brussels-based designers Thomas Billas and Théa Hallak (Atelier HIER) offer a printing workshop for which the stamp will be created from random objects found during their travels.
The duo was inspired by the installations of John M Armleder and the exhibition All of the Above, which particularly relate to the composition and superposition of works of art and the gathering of random objects and materials without any form of hierarchy, a recurring theme in the history of Écart, Dadaïsm and the Fluxus-movement.
