As part of the World Exhibition which is held in Dubaï, KANAL proposes to discover the work and universe of the artist Radouan Mriziga through one of his latest creations, AYUR. Our choice naturally turned towards this dancer-choreographer of Moroccan origin, who in his artistic work, strives to create bridges between the East and the West.

07/10/201808/10/2018

In Medium Medium, Linehan takes the audience on a guided tour in which he creates a performative dialogue between selected artworks on view and his own artistic work. The artworks speak to him, and he speaks back to them through the medium of dance. He also brings along his 2013 book, A No Can Make Space, and recites poetic fragments from the book, so the “speaking” becomes quite literal.

Desired Spaces

07/10/202008/10/2020

On Wednesday October 7, ICA, CIVA and VAi will follow up on the "Desired Spaces" open call for projects, launched in May, with a day-long debate at Kanal-Centre Pompidou. This call, launched by the three Belgian architecture institutes, aimed to collect, in response to the current crisis, possible future scenarios for a built and non-built environment. 180 contributions, a series in the newspaper Le Soir and a summer of reflection later, the institutes pursue this inspiring momentum with a first event.

During Festival Kanal, cars take pictures! Experience the birth of photography in the Carmera Obscura. You are invited to get into an old Fiat  to live a unique adventure! Once inside, you will discover that an image is being formed. It is projected on the windshield of the car thanks to a pinhole through which the rays of lights pass and cross. You are neither in front or behind the camera: you are inside of it. Furthermore, you will be able to print your picture on photosensitive paper thanks to the Micro Lab created inside of the car.

The narrated tour for young children (age 3 - 5) through the exhibition It Never Ends is the fruit of a meeting between the imagination of the author Jérôme Michez and the fantastic universe of John M Armleder. The story narrated by one of our mediators (or sometimes by the author himself) is illustrated by works that visitors discover as they make their way through the exhibition in the former car showroo
