A workshop with Emanuel Almborg, Graziela Kunsch and Penny Wilson (Assemble Play) on alternative pedagogies
29/10/2024
Please join us for a workshop on alternative child pedagogies. After a brief introduction, we will divide into three groups focusing on different practices: Graziela Kunsch will lead a practical experiment involving fine, dry sand and perforated materials (such as funnels and pasta strainers), using the Strandgut playspace created by Ute Strub in Berlin as a case study. Emanuel Almborg’s group will focus on the research practice and politics of observing infants, delving into theories of child development and observation as a scientific and documentary film approach.

Technology is omnipresent in our daily lives, but what do our online relationships actually represent? How do we inhabit a community through an app? What does it mean to be friends through platforms and avatars? And is there room for love in the metaverse? Connecting traces the links between physical reality and the digital world.

The Act of Breathing
29/04/2022 — 01/05/2022
12/05/2022 — 31/07/2022
The Act of Breathing is based on the poem L'Acte de Réspirer, by Congolese writer and poet Sony Labou Tansi and explores the breath - the repetitive and instinctive force that is also a necessity. As Labou Tansi reveals, the breath can also be used as a tool for political resistance, when even the right to breathe must be wilfully preserved.

Dreaming of the Commons. How can we keep collective practices alive?
14/12/2024
For a year now, the Brussels collective Agency has been busy "dreaming" its future, building a "praticauthèque" [library of practices] and compiling a growing archive of "boundary things" on intersection and outer limits of the law, activism and art. These processes and practices, activated through assemblies and events, are the legacy of artist Kobe Matthys, who passed away last year. But how do we keep them going?

Beginnings Marathon
25/04/2021 — 26/04/2021
We have all had an extraordinary and difficult year. Our world came to a partial standstill. We are longing for a new beginning. But how do we begin again? Do we start where we ended in March 2020? Or will it be the beginning of something totally different? Do we start again cautiously or will it be the new roaring twenties? And should we be looking for that one new beginning? The importance and the danger of a new beginning amidst the 'post-crisis' vulnerability cannot be overestimated.
