Alessandro Sciarroni - Don’t be frightened of turning the page
Day of the dance
27/04/2019 — 28/04/2019
During the experience of the project “Migrant Bodies”, between 2014 and 2015, the artist develops an idea for a new performative practice that is deeply germinal. Starting from the observation of the migration flows of some animals that at the end of their life return to spawn and die in their natal territory, the artist began working on the concept of “turning”.

BOGUS I_III - Kris Verdonck / A Two Dogs Company & ICK
15/05/2019 — 23/05/2019
Is what we see really what it seems? The series BOGUS I-II-III consists of three variation on the same principle: they are each time enormous inflatable sculptures, made out of the black fabric characteristic of the theatre. These automated inflatable sculptures appear and disappear again into their respective boxes. Together, the three installations form a landscape of performative objects. They suggest a post-apocalyptic environment, after the end of humanity, when machines have continued without us and have taken proportions we couldn’t have imagined up until now.

Installation
Benjamin Vandewalle
Studio Cité
16/07/2021 — 08/08/2021
For this Studio Cité event, Benjamin Vandewalle sets up a kind of art fairground, which allows visitors to view the city and its streets from a different angle. Studio Cité consists of a dozen interactive installations and performances, each playing a game that affects the way you perceive reality. You can sit on your own driven along in a moving carriage with mirrors, you can dance with other passers-by or you can just stand on the sidelines and watch people wearing strange periscopes on their heads making their way around.

EDOUARD CABAY
THIRD DEVIATION
21/06/2019 — 30/06/2019
Edouard Cabay's research focuses on issues related to digital culture and manufacturing processes - crossing the fields of the immaterial and the physical through an incessant intermingling of these two fields, to produce strange constructions "concretely concrete" although governed by the abstract laws of computational computing, the purpose of which is, however, to shape realizations that are part of the Euclidean space-time of our materialist contemporaneity (...) etc.

Cinema as Assembly
13/03/2025 — 15/03/2025
In a time of global crises, how can contemporary cinematic practices align with and support political imaginations striving for social justice and antifascist liberation? How do they help us rehearse these imaginations?
Cinema as Assembly is a three-day study circle that invites the public to come together – as an audience, as thinkers and as makers – to explore cinema’s potential as both a method and medium that can help rehearse collective organisation, militant imagination and liberatory transformation.

A workshop with Emanuel Almborg, Graziela Kunsch and Penny Wilson (Assemble Play) on alternative pedagogies
29/10/2024
Please join us for a workshop on alternative child pedagogies. After a brief introduction, we will divide into three groups focusing on different practices: Graziela Kunsch will lead a practical experiment involving fine, dry sand and perforated materials (such as funnels and pasta strainers), using the Strandgut playspace created by Ute Strub in Berlin as a case study. Emanuel Almborg’s group will focus on the research practice and politics of observing infants, delving into theories of child development and observation as a scientific and documentary film approach.

Swamp Sacrifices
24/02/2024
Since 2021, artists Paula Almiron and Wouter De Raeve have been working in Brussels’ Northern Quarter to investigate the impact of urban planning on local communities. The neighbourhood, like many others in the city, is located in a large swampy area, which was drained to provide space for the growing city. The swamp buried under the asphalt streets of Brussels serves as a starting point of Swamp Sacrifices, a two-day programme of performances, a concert, screenings, and talks.
