Performing Art - Noé Soulier

22/03/201923/03/2019

Now that the body has increasingly entered museums, choreographer and philosopher Noé Soulier has chosen to explore the reverse movement: what if it was the artworks that adapted themselves to a new space instead of the body? In Performing Art, spectators observe 20 works of art from the collection of the Musée National d’Art Moderne-Centre Pompidou. Not by strolling through a museum, but from the comfort of their theatre seat. The actors are the technicians of the museum who unpack the artworks onstage according to a well-defined protocol.

How can dance and architecture create a new kind of space together? During Performatik19, choreographer Radouan Mriziga will install a residency project at KANAL–Centre Pompidou.

Using Bauhaus as a pedagogical model, he seeks to establish a contemporary educational practice that reformulates the models of space. GAETAN RUSQUET

MEANWHILE

15/09/201816/09/2018

Three performers patiently erect a construction. Their gestures are methodical and the scene, architectural model or installation, takes shape like a city. Playing on the principles of stability and scale, the performers must face the destruction of their undertaking. Sound masses become more intense, ultimately making the space vibrate. The structure crumbles and the bodies become powerless. The threat of collapse becomes more concrete.

PURE

02/07/201826/08/2018

PURE is a performative and immersive installation by Christian Bakalov. It is the second part of the ETERNIA trilogy, developed from Spinoza's concept of "Eternity", which is closely linked to birth and death. Oscillating between visual arts and performance, PURE generates interactions between bodies and objects creating situations in which the public, performers and installations have an equal function, united in the same work of art.

A bottle of wine, a snow shovel, a sentence, a urinal… They don't seem that special. Who could have thought that they would be the start of an artistic revolution and completely change how we see art? And most importantly, that this change started in the middle of the First World War? Discover our new exhibition: Hahaha. The Humor of Art.
